It is not worth $149.Product Description Or PC From the Manufacturer EyeTV Hybrid - All-in-One TV for your Mac or PC Our smallest hybrid TV tuner ever, the all-new EyeTV Hybrid packs a lot of features into one very small TV stick. I am unable to receive any "air" antenna digital signals. The (2) other major networks are farther away in Harrisburg, PA (50 miles). My home is approx 7 miles from NBC affiliate WGAL Channel 8 while FOX43 is in York, PA (32 miles). Now, for the record.I live in Lancaster, PA (40*09N + 76*18W coordinates) and I live high on a hill. After brewing a pot of coffee, surfing the web, etc.the EyeTV channel scan completed with a message: NO CHANNELS.
The extensive channel scan takes approx 15-20 minutes whereas the baseline scan is much quicker at 3-4minutes. I opened the Elgato EyeTV program and attempted to rescan for channels again but this time I told the scanning software to look for "extensive" channels (frequencies).
I rescanned for channels.still NUTHIN! I powered the Macbook down and restarted. I installed this on my Macbook Pro, inserted the USB stick and scanned for channels: NO SIGNAL! Then I checked for firmware and software updates.downloaded & installed every update. It's much cheaper, works MUCH better with higher resolutions, offers you access to all of your channels AND recorded DVR content either locally or from anywhere in the world where you have a network connection, and most importantly they stand behind their products! Pretty soon Elgato will be out of business thanks to the Vulkano, and in my opinion, that can't happen soon enough. Most companies don't care where you purchased their products, they still stand behind them, but apparently Elgato sees it differently.ĭo yourself a favor and instead of buying this piece of junk, do what I did and get yourself a Monsoon Vulkano Flow. Excuse me? Did you catch the fact that it was NEW IN BOX? Elgato is the company responsible for packing these devices, so if the quality wasn't there to begin with, it's nobody else's fault but Elgato's. Even though I purchased my product new in box (still sealed), they said they can't "guarantee the quality of the product" otherwise. I contacted Elgato and went through their warranty department, only to be told that mine wouldn't be covered because I did not buy my product from an "authorized" reseller. The software will fail to recognize the device and you are left with a useless piece of plastic. This device will stop working within two months of use due to it's cheap design.
